How to use Smart Review

Smart Review reads the script and writes a checklist of things that tend to go wrong on the day: a prop that has to match across scenes shot weeks apart, a night exterior in a location with no power, a stunt that needs a coordinator. It's an AI read of the script. Use it as a second pass before your production meeting, and expect some items that don't apply.

It's available for scripted stories only.

Steps

1. Select the story, then click Smart Review in the top bar. The page is titled Shoot Checklist.
2. Click Generate Shoot Checklist. The analysis takes a little while on a feature-length script.
3. Read the complexity badge at the top of On-Set Checklist: Straightforward Production, Moderate Complexity, Challenging Production, or Extremely Complex. Challenges Found gives the count.
4. Work through the three checklist cards, Budget, Scheduling, and Prep. Tick items as they're handled. Each card shows how many are done, like 3 / 7.
5. Scroll to Production Challenges. Issues are grouped as Critical, Moderate, or Minor and tagged with a category such as Props Continuity, Location Logistics, Weather & Lighting, or Safety Concerns.
6. Open a challenge to read Challenge Description, Expert's Note, Preparation Tips, and Alternative Solutions.
7. After a script revision, click Re-analyze Checklist.

Your ticks save to the story, so the 1st AD and the producer can split the list and see each other's progress.

Using it well

Take the Critical items to the department that owns them. A Safety Concerns item about a car stunt belongs with the stunt coordinator, and a Props Continuity item about a cake that's half-eaten in scene 12 and whole in scene 30 belongs with props and the script supervisor. If an item doesn't apply to your production, leave it unticked and move on. The review can't see decisions you've already made.

If it doesn't work

• "Not Available for Unscripted Projects" means the story was created as unscripted. Open Edit on the story card, choose a script file under Convert to Scripted Project, and click Convert Now.
• A greyed-out button with "You have reached your AI call limit for this month" means the free plan's monthly AI allowance is used.
• "No checklist available" before you generate is normal.
• After Re-analyze Checklist, earlier ticks are kept by position in each list, so a new item can inherit an old tick. Re-check the boxes.
