How to set production dates and daily hours

The production schedule is the list of shoot days plus the hours you plan to work each day. A lot depends on it. The stripboard builds one block per day from it, Callsheets stays locked until it exists, availability requests can't go out without it, and the budget setup picks up the number of shoot days.

You pick individual days, not a start and end date, so a Thursday-to-Monday week with Sunday off is easy to enter.

Steps

1. Open the dialog from any of these places: the Set Production Schedule button on Schedule (shown under "Production Schedule Required"), the calendar icon on Schedule that opens Schedule Settings, or the Schedule Shoot button at the top of the app.
2. Under Select Shooting Days, click each shoot date in the two-month calendar. Click a date again to remove it. Past dates can't be added.
3. Check the Selected Days list under the calendar.
4. Under Daily Production Hours, set Start Time and End Time.
5. Read the Production Summary. For 12 days at 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM it shows 12 shooting days, 12.0 hours per day, and 144.0 production hours in total.
6. Click Save Schedule, or Update Schedule if you're changing an existing one.

What the daily hours control

The hours become the length of every day on the stripboard. With 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, a day holds 12 hours of scenes, shots, and breaks, and any duration that would push past that is marked (Overtime) and can't be chosen. They also set the time grid on each person's availability form.

Changing dates later

Editing an existing schedule shows Changing Production Schedule, a warning that availability data and schedule assignments are affected. Any scene or shot already scheduled on a date you remove is taken off the stripboard, and a message tells you how many were removed. Move those strips to a remaining day before you drop the date if you want to keep the order.

If it doesn't work

• "No Days Selected" means no dates are highlighted in the calendar.
• "Invalid Time Range" means the end time isn't after the start time. A shoot that runs past midnight, such as 6:00 PM to 4:00 AM, can't be entered as one day. Set the latest end time the form allows and note the real wrap on the callsheet. The night shoot entry covers how those days are usually planned.
• A date you need is in the past? Only dates already on the schedule can stay. New past dates are refused.
