How to submit a class assignment

Assignments come from your instructor's class and show up under My Assignments once you've joined. Each one asks for a Storiara story project, a file, or both, and the card tells you which.

Before you submit

For a story project, make sure the work is in the story you mean to hand in. If you've been testing ideas in a duplicate, submit the finished one. For a file, export it first: a PDF of your printed schedule or breakdown sheets, for example.

Steps

1. Click My Assignments in the sidebar.
2. Find the assignment. Cards show Pending Submission or Submitted, the due date, and the Instructions from your instructor.
3. For a project, open Select Story to Submit and choose the story from Choose a project....
4. For a file, use Upload File to choose it from your computer. The card shows the file name and size once it's selected.
5. Click the button at the bottom of the card. It reads Submit Project, Upload File, or Submit Work depending on the assignment.
6. Look for Assignment Submitted. The card changes to Submitted and shows the linked project or file.

Changing a submission

To swap in a different story or file before the deadline, pick the new one (the labels change to Change Story Project and Replace Uploaded File) and click Update Submission. Unsubmit withdraws it completely, confirmed by Submission Cancelled.

If you turn something in after the due date, your instructor sees it marked Late, and so do you.

A submitted story stays live. Your instructor opens the story itself, so changes you make after submitting are what they see when they look. If you want to keep working without changing what you handed in, duplicate the story first and keep editing the copy.

If it doesn't work

• "You are not currently enrolled in any active class" means you haven't joined. Follow how to join a class.
• "No projects created. Go to stories page to create one." means you have no stories yet. Create one on My Stories.
• The submit button stays grey until you've chosen a story or a file.
• "Submission Failed" usually means the upload dropped. Check your connection and try again.
