How to add props and wardrobe

The Assets page holds four lists: Props, Wardrobe, Vehicles & Animals, and Makeup & Hair. The script pull fills them with what it finds, and each item it pulls is checked against a quote from the script. You add what it missed, like the backup of a hero prop or the second shirt for a blood gag, and put numbers on everything.

Steps

1. Open Assets under Planning.
2. Click the tab for the list you want, such as Wardrobe.
3. Click Add Wardrobe Item (or Add Prop, Add Vehicle/Animal, Add Makeup/Hair look).
4. Enter a Name, like "Maya's waitress uniform, stained".
5. Pick a Category. Props use Hand Props, Set Decoration, Furniture, Electronics, Documents, Weapons, Food/Drinks, or Other. Wardrobe uses Costume, Accessories, Shoes, Undergarments, Period Pieces, Contemporary, Formal Wear, or Other.
6. Write a Description.
7. For wardrobe and makeup, choose the Character, or No specific character for background.
8. Under Scenes, select every scene the item appears in. A stained uniform might be scenes 14, 15, and 22 but not 9.
9. Fill in Size, Color, Material/Make, and Notes as needed.
10. Add an Estimated Rate ($) and Rate Unit: Per Day, Per Week, Per Hour, Per Use, or Purchase.
11. Attach reference images under Photos (Optional).
12. Click Add.

Faster ways in

Highlight the word in the script and use Add as Prop or Add as Wardrobe from the Script & Breakdown View. The form opens with the name, a description, and the scene already filled in. See how to tag breakdown elements.

Working the list

Switch between By Category and By Scene at the top. By Scene is the view to hand a department head before a production meeting, since it reads like a prop list sorted by scene. Each card has Find in script, Comments, Edit details, Manage availability, and Find, which searches Amazon for matching items. Rates feed the budget's 2800 Property and 2900 Wardrobe lines when you sync it.

Storiara doesn't count doubles for you. If a shirt gets destroyed in a take and you need three, write that in the name or notes and price it with Purchase.

If it doesn't work

• "Missing Information" means Name, Description, Category, or Scenes is empty. Scenes is the one people miss.
• A tab full of loading placeholders means the script pull is still running.
• If an item should be on another tab (a car filed as a prop), delete it and add it on the right tab.
