How to install Storiara as an app on your phone
Add Storiara to your phone's home screen or install it from a desktop browser so it opens like an app. There is no App Store or Google Play version.
Storiara runs in the browser, and you can install it so it opens full screen from an icon, without browser tabs and address bars. There's no separate App Store or Google Play app; installing adds the web app to your device.
On an iPhone or iPad
Storiara shows a sheet titled Add Storiara to Home Screen the first time you open it on a phone. Its steps are for Safari:
- Open Storiara in Safari and sign in.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow) at the bottom of the screen.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add in the top right.
On an Android phone
- Open Storiara in your browser and sign in.
- Tap the menu icon (three dots).
- Choose Add to Home screen or Install app, depending on the browser.
- Tap Add or Install to confirm.
On a computer, look for the install option in your browser's menu or address bar.
What the phone version does
On a small screen Storiara switches to a mobile layout with tabs along the bottom: Scenes, Schedule, Assets, Callsheets, and Share. It's built for checking things on set: today's scenes, the stripboard, which props are needed, and the call sheet with weather. Most editing isn't available there, and pages like Locations, Cast & Crew, Budget, and Funding show Manage on Desktop. Do your building on a laptop and use the phone to look things up between setups.
The app needs a connection. Without one it shows You're Offline instead of your data, and changes can't be made until you're back online. On a location with no signal, print the call sheet or save it as a PDF the night before.
Crew who only need the day's sheet don't need to install anything. A shared call sheet link opens in any phone browser.
If it doesn't work
- Tapped Maybe Later and the sheet never came back? It stays dismissed on that device. Follow the steps above from the browser menu.
- No Add to Home Screen on iPhone: you may be in a browser that hides it. Open the page in Safari.
- The installed app shows You're Offline: check Wi-Fi or mobile data, then reopen it.
The Getting Started guide walks through the desktop workspace.
