How to print the shooting schedule
Print Storiara's stripboard as a day-by-day production schedule, or print the Day Out of Days, and save either one as a PDF from your browser.
Storiara prints the schedule through your browser's print dialog, so "export to PDF" means choosing Save as PDF there. There's no calendar, CSV, or Excel export of the schedule.
What prints
The printout is titled Production Schedule, with the story title and today's date. Each shoot day gets its own block, headed like "DAY 3: Wednesday, Oct 08, 2026", and a table with these columns:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Sc. | Scene number, or scene.shot for a shot (for example 14.2) |
| I/E | INT, EXT, or INT/EXT from the heading |
| Scene Setting / Description | Scene name with its description in italics, or the shot name and category |
| D/N | Day or Night |
| Location | The location linked to that scene, or TBD |
| Time | Start time and length in minutes |
Breaks print as their own rows, such as "Lunch (30m)". The page is US Letter, portrait, with half-inch margins. The layout is a day-by-day shooting schedule with full scene descriptions, so it runs longer than a one-line schedule.
Steps
- Open Schedule and select Stripboard in the view switcher.
- Click the printer icon beside the switcher. Its tooltip reads Print Schedule.
- In the print dialog, choose your printer, or choose Save as PDF to send the file around.
- For the cast grid instead, switch to Day-Out-Of-Days first. The same icon then reads Print Day-Out-Of-Days and prints in landscape.
Before you print
Walk the board once. A strip placed on the wrong day prints on the wrong day. Check that each scene is linked to a location on the Locations page, otherwise the Location column says TBD, which is the question the 2nd AD will get all morning. And if you changed dates recently, confirm nothing dropped off in the update.
If it doesn't work
- The printout says "No items scheduled" when nothing is on the stripboard yet. See how to build a stripboard.
- Location shows TBD for a scene you know is booked: edit the location and add that scene under Scenes.
- If only one day prints or pages cut off, check the print dialog's page range and scaling settings.
The Schedule guide covers the board itself.
