How to share a call sheet link
Copy the public link to a day's call sheet in Storiara and post it in a group chat or email. Recipients open it in a browser without signing in.
Every shoot day's call sheet has a public web page. Copying its link is the fastest way to get the sheet into a crew group chat, a text thread, or an email from your own account, since Storiara itself only sends email.
Steps
- Open Callsheets and choose the shoot day in the day menu.
- Finish your edits. The link shows whatever is saved when someone opens it.
- Click the link icon in the toolbar (Copy public link).
- Look for Link copied.
- Paste the link wherever your crew reads messages.
How the link behaves
- There's one link per shoot date, and it's the same for everyone. It doesn't identify who opened it, and there are no read receipts or confirmations.
- The page opens without a Storiara account. People can use Print or Download on the page to print it or save a PDF from the print dialog.
- It stays live. If you change call times at 9 PM, anyone reopening the link sees the new times, but nobody is notified of the change, so tell the group when something moves.
Because anyone with the link can open the sheet, look at what's on it before posting to a big channel. Personal phone numbers in the contacts block are the usual concern. You can remove or change contacts on the sheet before sharing.
When to send email instead
For the official record of who received which version, use Send on the same page. Email sends are logged on Reminders, a pasted link isn't. See how to send a call sheet.
If it doesn't work
- The link icon is greyed out until the day's sheet finishes loading.
- An error page instead of the sheet usually means the link was cut off when it was pasted, or the story was deleted. Copy the link again and resend it.
- A crew member sees old times: ask them to reload the page. Some chat apps cache link previews, but the page itself loads fresh.
- Printing from a phone gives tiny text? Have them use Download and zoom the PDF instead.
The Callsheets guide covers building the sheet, and the advance call sheet entry explains sending tomorrow's sheet early.
