How to add filming locations

Storiara pulls locations from your scene headings when the script is imported, so the Locations page usually starts with "JOE'S APARTMENT" and "PARKING GARAGE" already listed. What it can't know is where you'll actually shoot. Adding the address, scenes, and fee turns a script set into a real location the rest of the app can use.

Steps

1. Open Locations under Planning.
2. To fill in a pulled location, click Edit on its card. To add a new one, click Add Location.
3. Enter the Location Name, for example "Rosie's Diner".
4. Set Type: Interior (INT), Exterior (EXT), or Interior/Exterior (INT/EXT).
5. Pick a Time of Day if it helps, or leave it on Unspecified.
6. Start typing in Specific Address (Optional) and choose a suggestion from the list.
7. Write a Description. It's required, and a line like "Working diner, closes 3 PM, owner wants us out by midnight" is more use than "diner".
8. Add Notes for anything departments should know.
9. Under Scenes, choose every scene that shoots here.
10. Add photos with Add Photos, and a parking map if you have one.
11. Under Fee Estimation, enter the Estimated Fee ($) and pick a Fee Unit such as Per Day.
12. Click Add Location, or Update Location when editing.

Once any location has an address, a map appears above the list with a pin for each one.

Why the details matter elsewhere

Scene links decide what the stripboard and printed schedule show in the location column, which reads TBD otherwise. The address feeds the Funding page, which matches locations to incentive programs. The fee feeds the budget's location lines when you sync. When two script sets shoot at the same real place, give both records the same address so they sit on one pin and nobody plans a company move that isn't there.

If it doesn't work

• "Missing Information" means Location Name or Description is empty.
• "Invalid Address" means the address couldn't be found. Pick one from the suggestions instead of typing it in full.
• The Scenes field says no approved scenes are available: the story has no scenes yet. Import the script or add scenes first.
• If the map doesn't appear, none of the locations has an address saved.
